BIO & VISION

Richard  Imon is a graduate from California State University, Fullerton earning both under graduate and graduate degrees in history. This work was originally published in 1982 and used in several history courses emphasizing the immigrant history in the American social fabric and society. Nisei Legacy focuses on the family of the Imon's, Handa's and the extended family. 

The author shows through oral history, rare documents and photography, the assimilation process of these Japanese American families. These Issei and Nisei pioneers stayed focused on their dreams and goals as Americans through depression, war, the Internemnt years and post World War II relocation to other parts of The United States to rebuild their lives and live once again, the American dream.
